A HOLLYWOOD movie star looks unrecognisable 24 years on from her iconic Disney film role with a boyband star.
The Kentucky-born actress has left fans doing a double take in her festive flick – after previously teaming up with Justin Timberlake for his debut film role.
Maggie Lawson, now 44, starred with the *NSYNC and solo hitmaker, 43, in Model Behaviour.
Released in 2000, the ABC flick was based on the book Janine and Alex, Alex and Janine.
The scenes show Maggie play insecure teen Alex Burroughs – a fashion designer wannabe whose character goes on to date Justin’s Jason Sharp.
She was known for her poker-straight blonde hair pinned back with clips and elegant outfits, borrowed from friend Janine Adams, after the pair switched identities.
Now the screen star, who has gone on to star on Psych and FOX comedy Outmatched among others, looks completely different from her rom com role.
Maggie has opted for a darker blonde hairstyle off-screen and, in festive film A Lot Like Christmas, cuts a striking look with a pop of red lipstick.
She often fills her Instagram page with selfies with her dog and glam attire.
In her caption, she has described herself as an “Actress, Animal Lover and Amateur Explorer.”
Fans can now see the star – who has also featured in a slew of Hallmark movies – in 2021 flick A Lot Like Christmas to be aired on BBC Two this weekend.
Her character owns a tree farm in New York, which is under threat from a huge chain brand.
She also hosts podcast Me Time With Maggie.
DISNEY MEMORIES
The American screen star recently opened up on her Model Behaviour role and working with Cry Me A River singer Justin.
She told TV Line: “That was my first lead role and I played two characters, so it was super challenging but one of my most favourite experiences.
“Someone named Justin Timberlake and I had a ball. I think I was his first on screen kiss.
“We were so young and *NSYNC was just about to pop… We stayed friends for years and to this day when we see each other we gush about that experience and cheer each other on.
“I also have to say: Kathie Lee Gifford [who played her on-screen mum] was an angel to me and my family.
“I love her, and we also have stayed in touch.”
