Hollyoaks star announces he's engaged to his partner after his character was sensationally killed off on the soap

Hollyoaks star Callum Kerr has announced he’s engaged to his partner Lauren Stacy.

The actor previously played sinister policeman PC George Kiss on the Channel 4 soap between 2020 and 2021.

Taking to Instagram, Scottish actor Callum revealed he’d popped the question to Lauren during a romantic getaway to South Africa.

He captioned the post: ‘Took this girl on a horse ride thru the Western Cape and asked if she’d spend the rest of her life with me.’

His post was soon flooded with sweet messages of congratulations from fans of the soap, with Billy Price, who played Sid Sumner, writing: ‘Congrats bro,’ followed by a heart emoji.

Callum’s post showed the sweet moment he and Lauren headed out on a horseback ride, with later images featuring the excited bride-to-be showing off her sparkly engagement ring.

Callum’s character George first arrived in the village to investigate the county lines drug dealing that took place in the village, and he was installed at Hollyoaks High in an attempt to lower the risk of dealing on school grounds.

It was at the school he first met John Paul McQueen (James Sutton), but after a few months, he became abusive, fuelled by his jealousy for James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) and Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson).

Callum’s time on the soap came to a dramatic end when his abuse was revealed to the rest of the McQueen family.

While Theresa (Jorgie Porter) furiously confronted him, Sally St. Clare (Annie Wallace) killed him with a bookend.

In the aftermath, of his death, George’s real killer was never exposed, John Paul relapsed into his alcoholism after being questioned by police over his murder.

Since leaving the soap, Callum has pursued a career in music, and in June he revealed he signed a record deal in Nashville.

‘Proud to announce that after just shy of two years writing, and a year of releasing music here in Nashville, I’ve signed a record deal,’ he posted on Instagram.

‘A coalition between OneRPM (the label) and HuffCo (the records) spearheaded by country award winning in-house producers @dannhuff and @davidhuffmusic

‘Can’t wait to show y’all what we’re working on and feeling beyond blessed to be involved.’
