WHEN it comes to being pregnant there are many do’s and don’ts that some women would’ve never expected – and shaving is surprisingly one of them.
Nurse and consultant, who goes by the name of Nutge_lc on TikTok, has explained why women who are carrying a little one should never shave or wax their private parts.

In the video, she explains: “Don’t shave the bush!
“Did you know that it’s actually not recommended to shave pubic hair after 36 weeks of pregnancy.
“Shaving pubic hair can increase risk of infection at the time of birth, even with a cesarean birth.
“Waxing isn’t necessary either and is usually more painful during pregnancy (doctors DON’T care!)

Research shows that it can increase the risk of infection for women who end up needing C-sections.
According to a 2015 study published in the Journal of Hospital Infection, which aimed to update research about hair removal and incidence of surgical site infection, significantly fewer infections occur with clipping, cream depilation or going au naturel than with shaving.
Responding to the video, viewers were thankful for the tips with one writing: “Good because I can’t see it anyway.”
And another wrote: “Well this is fantastic news because I can no longer reach.”

Dani said: “My mum is really like, as soon as you go round her house, if you’re a woman, she goes ‘Do you need to be waxed?’
“She’s a very odd woman. She loves anything to do with any body parts.”
