Gregg Wallace's marriage with wife who is standing by him including 'proviso to stay sexy'

MasterChef host Gregg Wallace’s wife, Anne-Marie Sterpini, has shown her loyalty to her husband by proudly wearing her wedding ring despite allegations of misconduct against him. The 60 year old presenter is currently facing an external review over historical allegations, including new claims of harassment.

His lawyers have strongly denied these allegations, stating that it is “entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature”. Despite the controversy, Anne-Marie, who married Wallace in 2016 and has a four year old son with him, is standing by her husband.

The couple, who have a 22-year age gap, live with Anne-Marie’s parents – an arrangement that Wallace suggested was necessary to help his wife after she became a mother for the first time. The TV chef has previously spoken about the transformative impact his fourth wife, Anne-Marie, has had on his life.

Wallace and Anne-Marie, who have a decade-long relationship and a son named Sid, have been through significant changes together, including Wallace’s impressive five-stone weight loss, which he credits to Anne-Marie. Speaking on Good Morning Britain earlier this year, he shared: “That young woman has revolutionised my life, there’s a 22-year age gap, we have been together ten years and have a son, Sid, and I want to be there for them,” reports the Mirror.

MasterChef judge Gregg has had a colourful romantic history, with two children, Libby and Tom, from his second marriage to ex-pastry chef Denise. The marriage spanned from 1999 until 2004.

His first matrimonial attempt with Christine in 1991 was short-lived, dissolving after six weeks, while he has openly regretted his third union with Heidi Brown between 2011 and 2012, labelling it a “huge mistake”.

Wallace hasn’t shied away from discussing his personal life, including the charming tale of how he and current wife Anne-Marie Sterpini’s love story began with an online query about food. It all started when Anne-Marie messaged him after watching him pair rhubarb with duck on television.

Speaking to HELLO! Magazine, Wallace reminisced: “I just looked at Anna’s photo and thought, ‘Wow, she’s pretty’. So yes, rhubarb, which was considered an aphrodisiac in medieval times, brought us together.”

The culinary star also shared details of their blossoming romance on ITV’s Lorraine, explaining the transition from Twitter banter to text conversations. Anne-Marie initially had her doubts about the authenticity of their exchanges until they met in person.

“She came down to London to have dinner with me, and she said it wasn’t until we got to the restaurant, that she was comfortable it was really me and not an impostor,” he disclosed.

The telly favourite and star of the cooking world exchanged marital vows with his love at the idyllic Hever Castle back in August 2016, having been together for a spellbinding three years; an enchanting ceremony attended by culinary giants like John Torode, who took on the prestigious role as best man, Lisa Faulkner, Marcus Wareing, and Monica Galetti.

Waxing lyrical about amour on the White Wine Question Time podcast hosted by Kate Thornton, he mused: “What has love taught me? That it is an absolute game of chance and that is it. It is a complete and utter lottery. I am very fortunate I got the winning ticket. I won the Euro Millions the day that young lady walked into my life.”

Though this marks his fourth journey down the aisle, the gastronomic guru stressed his earnest resolve to HELLO! Magazine, revealing: “Meeting Anna has brought me what I think I’ve always been searching for that big, warm family dynamic and there’s real strength in that.”

He further asserted, aware of potential scepticism regarding his past marital record: “I’m very conscious of people thinking I just do this willy-nilly. But we haven’t rushed into this we’ve been together for three years and I truly have never met anyone like Anna.”

His devotion further shone through as he hailed his partner as his “dream girl”, lauding her radiant inner and outer beauty. Since their dreamy nuptials, the duo have candidly discussed their notable age gap, often sharing a chuckle over it amongst themselves, a topic that gained more light-hearted attention after they welcomed their bundle of joy, Sid, in May 2019.

On a segment of Loose Women, host Judi Love broached the experience of parenting in later life. Gregg offered a charming retort about his home life, jesting: “Baby Sid. You haven’t met Mrs Wallace but I was really pleased she had a baby because it’s someone at home more her own age to talk to.”

Discussing the critical issue of children with his significantly younger partner proved crucial early on. In an intimate revelation to Event Magazine, Wallace stated: “When you fall in love with a younger woman, you’ve got to realise that the chances are they are going to want a family. I remember [her] saying to me, ‘I’m going to want to get married and have children. If that’s not what you want, then don’t mess me about’.”

The TV chefs living arrangements have also been a hot topic, knowing he shares a luxurious £1 million Kent mansion with both his new family and his in-laws, Rina and Massimo. Detailing to the Daily Mail how this uncommon circumstance came to be, Wallace explained it stemmed from his wife’s intentions of childrearing.

“I said: ‘Yes, I’m willing to have a baby with you, but a couple of provisos…I’m not willing to swap my fun, sexy girlfriend for an exhausted mum. We make enough money, I’d like you to get help in the house.’ Anna said ‘What about my mum? ‘ That was perfect,” he revealed. In his candid discussion, he admitted to the active role his in-laws play in their home, sometimes even alternating nights to sleep with Sid to provide some relief to him and Anne-Marie.
