Gino D'Acampo flooded with support as he ignores furore to promote cookbook

Gino D’ACampo has garnered the support of fans in a social media return to promote his new cookbook. The under fire celebrity chef is currently under investigation by ITV over “dozens” of allegations against him from various TV programmes over 12 years.

He has “firmly denied” all allegations which include the usage of sexualised and hostile language on set with his alleged behaviour being described as “unacceptable, distressing and horrendous”.

Appearing to ignore the current furore he took to Instagram to post a breezy cooking video showing him preparing an air fried fish recipe from his new cookbook and ensuring he flashed the cover on camera to promote it.

“Perfect recipe for Valentine’s Day… Super Easy & Super Tasty… GDx,” he captioned it.

He barely speaks in the clip other than to announce what he is cooking at the begining and to comment “this is awesome” as he samples his creation at the end of the clip. It is not known when the clip was filmed.

While Gino doesn’t mention anything about the current investigation his fans were quick to address the elephant in the room and offer their support.

“I’m not buying this book because of your sexist views and sense of humour… I’m buying two,” one quipped. “Don’t lose your sparkle, everyone loves you for who you are, keep your chin up,” another wrote.

“People are so humourless these days. I get you and your sense of humour. I’ll always have your back. Love our Gino,” a third chimed in. A fourth vowed: “I’m going to buy this just to support you!!! You have always made me smile in my saddest days ! People need to grow a pair and see humour for what it is!! Stay strong.”

“We love you @iamginodacampo and I bought your book yesterday not just because I know it would be great but I want to show my support,” a fifth commented.

Meanwhile a sixth said: “I was going to buy a copy of this Gino my man, but after what’s happened I have no choice but to buy at least 10! Stay strong my man.”

Gino issued a statement to  ITV News on Februry 7 denying the allegations: “I have been told by ITN news that allegations have been made about me acting inappropriately, some dating back over 10 years ago.

“I have never been made aware of these matters previously and the allegations are firmly denied. I would not do anything that I thought would upset or distress anyone. This is simply not in my nature. I do not recognise the version of events being put to me.

“Not only have these allegations never been raised with me before, I have been repeatedly supported by executives at the highest level and was commissioned on prime-time programmes during the period in which it is now suggested I was acting inappropriately.

“I am a father, husband and have worked with well over 1,500 people on around 80 productions in my career, which I have been so proud of. I take such matters extremely seriously and the suggestion that I have acted in an improper way against is deeply upsetting,” he said.
