Posting to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, the money-saving shopper wrote: “Heads up, number one is £1.89 and buy one get one free – and the other one is £51.

“It’s identical and even better than the Home Bargains dupe.

“I have them all and genuinely there’s no difference in the Superdrug version.”

Under the post were two photos, on the left was the Superdrug shower gel, coming in at just 94p a bottle.

On the right was Sol de Janeiro’s “Brazilian 4 play moisturising shower cream-gel” which retails for £51.

The post proved to be highly popular, notching up more than 200 comments.

Most tagged in a friend or two to let them know about the bargain dupe.

One wrote: “Sol dupe in Superdrug I’ll check tomorrow at work.”

Another said: “OMG £51 for a shower gel. Can’t believe people would pay that.”

A third added: “I have it, it smells so nice.”

Beauty fans race to Superdrug as brand slash loads of products to just 60p

Earlier this month, The Sun tested out a whole range of dupes of Sol De Janeiro products.

From Poundland to Primark, it seems every budget retailer has taken a swing to replicate the Brazilian brand.

And it’s not just those two, Home Bargains has a range of products that are so popular, even I couldn’t track them down.

Another bargain find, named Tropical Trip Body Trio, has just hit the shelves across Superdrug stores and comes with three summery body creams in bright packaging.

What’s more, the popular high-street retailer has also launched a Tropical Caramel Body & Hair Mist, which looks to be a close match to Sol de Janeiro’s viral Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist.

Unlike the posh twin, the Superdrug version sells for £8 – or a whopping 3x less than the cult favourite, which also comes in a smaller bottle.

On the lookout for more dupes of the viral Bum Bum cream? The high street is full of a number of brilliant alternatives, including Poundland’s very own version.

Rival Home Bargains is also offering purse-friendly body care essentials that are a whopping £30 cheaper than Sol de Janeiro.

How to bag a bargain

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.
