France shares higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.39%

Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the gained 0.39%, while the index climbed 0.34%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:), which rose 3.69% or 3.80 points to trade at 106.80 at the close. Safran SA (EPA:) added 2.14% or 4.40 points to end at 210.30 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:) was up 2.07% or 4.70 points to 231.30 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Teleperformance SE (EPA:), which lost 2.71% or 2.44 points to trade at 87.64 in late trade. TotalEnergies SE (EPA:) declined 1.60% or 0.87 points to end at 53.48 and Orange SA (EPA:) shed 1.59% or 0.15 points to 9.55.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:) which rose 3.69% to 106.80, Bureau Veritas SA (EPA:) which was up 2.83% to settle at 30.52 and Fnac Darty SA (EPA:) which gained 2.28% to close at 29.20.

The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:) which was unchanged 22.73% to 0.00 in late trade, Valneva (EPA:) which lost 3.67% to settle at 1.87 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:) which was down 3.64% to 12.71 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 249 to 245 and 92 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.43% or 38.99 to $2,757.39 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.06% or 1.41 to hit $70.00 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.58% or 1.14 to trade at $73.33 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.82.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 106.21.
