Liam Payne has died age 31.
The One Direction singer fell from a hotel in Buenos Aires in Argentina, state police have said.
He was staying at the Hotel Cas Sur in the neighbourhood of Palermo, local media report.
TMZ reports it happened shortly after 5pm.
Payne was in Argentina recently to attend the concert of former bandmate Niall Horan.
Payne was 16 when he joined One Direction after being put in the group during an X Factor audtion alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall and Louis Tomlinson.
He is survived by Bear, who he shared with former partner Cheryl.
