CBR has an exclusive gameplay video for SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game. The single-player sandbox game is the first to star SpongeBob SquarePants’ best friend, Patrick.
Players can explore the world of Bikini Bottom as their own playground in the video game, playing with almost any object they can find to “alter the world with physics-defying hilarity”. The game also includes missions from Patrick’s friends, including SpongeBob, Mr. Krabs, Sandy Cheeks and Plankton. Missions include constructing a Krabby Patty, playing on a see-saw and causing chaos in Mrs. Puff’s ‘rage room’. Iconic Bikini Bottom locations, including Glove World, The Dump and Demolition Derby also appear throughout the game. SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game will release Oct. 4 for PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and PC.

CBR’s exclusive clip shows one of the missions gamers will be able to go on when playing SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game. The Krabby Patty’s challenge tasks players with assembling Krabby Patties for hungry customers at the Krusty Krab where SpongeBob SquarePants works in the animated television series. Other tasks include collecting jars of mayonnaise in classic Patrick fashion in order to unlock new outfits in the game. Players should also keep an eye out for Easter Eggs from the TV series when exploring the open world. The Patrick Star Game also comes complete with voice-overs of the original SpongeBob SquarePants cast, including Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick, Tom Kenny as SpongeBob, Rodger Bumpass as Squidward, Clany Brown as Mr. Krabs and many more.
Patrick Star’s Game Captures the SpongeBob Show’s Zany Humor
The Patrick Star Game is published by Outright Games under license from Paramount Game Studios and was developed by PHL Collective. Stephanie Malham, the Managing Director of Outright Games spoke about collaborating with Nickelodeon and the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise for the new game, saying, ““It has been an absolute pleasure to work once again with Nickelodeon/Paramount Consumer Products. […] It is an honor to work on an iconic and beloved franchise like SpongeBob SquarePants. The new game is just in time to celebrate the 25th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants, which launched on July 17, 1999. SpongeBob has gone on to be the most-watched animated series for 22 consecutive years, spanning a universe of beloved characters, catchphrases, spawning a Tony award-winning Broadway musical and many other spin-offs, including films, video games, and theme park rides.
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game goes on sale Oct. 4 on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
