Elon Musk Excited About Area 51 Raid, Others Not Amused

Social media hype often gets hilariously out of hand, and what starts as a joke becomes a potential national security threat. Thankfully, not everyone has taken the Area 51 raid so seriously. Elon Musk has shown his excitement with an alien meme posted on his Twitter.

The Facebook event is called “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All Of Us”. 1.9 million people and counting have now RSVP’d to the group. The plan is for the attendees to meet up at the Area 51 Alien Centre tourist attraction – where else would you start the raid from? Attendees will then coordinate their entry and “naruto run” to dodge the bullets and “see them aliens”.

The event, which is meant to be a joke, is set to take place on September 20th at 3 am. As with any social media hype, it’s fair to expect that only a tiny fraction of said attendees will show up, especially given the reality of flying to Nevada and confronting the US armed forces.

Anyone planning to attend the event would likely be shot on site, that is according to Thornton TD Barnes, who used to protect the site in the late 60s and 70s, and who consequently says that there are no aliens there anyway.

Indeed, the US armed forces are not taking the joke too lightly either, and have advised that as always, they will be “ready to protect the US and its assets”, a statement that is not too difficult to interpret. Anyone who does get over the fence into the top-secret research facility is likely to meet an untimely end.

Elon Musk, himself no stranger to talking about the possibility of alien life, appreciated the joke and responded by posting a meme of himself and an alien “one week after the Area 51 raid”, with the caption “Space X has Area 59” and complete with alien and heart emojis.

Elon Musk talks aliens…

The possibility of alien life is a subject that has fascinated humans for centuries. Around one in five people take the view that aliens are already among humans on earth. Others take a mental or astral position, and a lot of scientists believe it to be statistically very likely that aliens are out there somewhere.

There has been a lot of research and resources used in the search for alien life. Recent developments include potent telescopes like the Breakthrough Listen being used to search for communication signals from intelligent life, either communicating with their species or broadcasting their existence to the cosmos. The telescope can detect even small laser signals from up to 25 trillion miles away.

Space is so big…

Conspiracy theorists believe that Area 51 may hold clues or even evidence as to the existence of aliens. The secretive facility, which is located around 80 miles Northwest of Las Vegas, is known to test flights for stealth planes, but there are other projects and research that remains unknown, stirring up all sorts of ideas about what goes on there.

This isn’t helped by events throughout history, such as ex-employee Lazar saying that he had seen photos of aliens on medical tables, or the increase in sightings of UFOs around the area in the 1950s, which is now known to match up chronologically with the testing of the U2 spy plane.
