Donny Osmond shares poignant post after 'leaving family home' as fans rush to support him

After taking over Las Vegas with his highly anticipated residency, Donny Osmond has embarked on a three-month tour across the US.

The 66-year-old was surrounded by family and spent time with his grandchildren before leaving home in June to take on the summer shows.

This week, the Puppy Love singer reflected on his early days in the industry with a post on Instagram.

He uploaded a photo of a concert ticket from 1972 before the disbanding of his band The Osmonds and joked about the shocking price in the caption.

“Rhonda Gresham and Faith Longsworth were at my show in Baltimore last week and during the pre-show, they showed me this promotional flyer for the Osmond’s concert that they went to back on April 3rd, 1972.

“Look at the price of the ticket,” he quipped: ”Wow! Times have changed, haven’t they?”

The ticket showed that Donny and his brothers were performing at the Hampton Roads Coliseum and were supported by The Heywoods and Jan Baker.

The musical group reached stardom during the 1970s and began as a quartet with Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay before being joined by their younger siblings, Donny and Jimmy.

Their only sister Marie launched a successful career in 1973 before joining Donny as a duet partner.

In the comments, fans reflected on seeing the brothers at concert, as @cindypaulsen exclaimed: “I saw you at The Minnesota State Fair in 1973!”
@lucindadavis63 added: “I paid $7.50 for floor seats to see you in Charlotte in 1975.”

As @stra.wberry26 reflected: “I slept on the pavement outside The Rainbow in Finsbury Park in 1973.”

While an astonished @summergirl26_ remarked: “Look at those ticket prices back then wow!”
