Charlotte Crosby hasn’t sugarcoated her experience with pregnancy as she opens up on her fiancé Jake Ankers’ ‘devastated’ reaction to their baby’s gender reveal.
The former Geordie Shore star, who also shares Alba-Jean, two, with the businessman, announced last year she was expecting her second child.
As well as their adorable announcement video, the couple, who got together in 2021, also let fans in on the moment they found out they were expecting another baby girl.
In a video shared on Instagram, the expectant parents can be seen letting off smoke cannons while holidaying in the Maldives, which soon surround them in pink.
However, it hasn’t all been plain sailing as the reality TV star shared her partner’s reaction to finding out their child’s sex.
‘He wanted a boy so bad,’ she told The Mirror. ‘I don’t want to ruin his reaction – because it was a big one, but we’re filming a TV show at the minute and we filmed the whole gender reveal, so I don’t want to give too much away, but he was devastated.
‘Now, he’s come round to the idea, so it’s all good.’
According to Today.com, gender disappointment affects around 20% of expectant parents.
She went on to joke she was ‘just surviving at this point’ as she gets closer to her baby’s arrival.
‘I’m so ready to have this baby now. I can’t wait. I’ve been throwing up all morning! I was still being sick right up until I had my first baby, and it’s been the same this time,’ she continued.
‘I actually hadn’t been sick for about three weeks, and I thought it was over – but then, wow, this morning it hit me like a ton of bricks.’
Last month, Charlotte shared her daughter Alba had been struggling with sleepless nights after the family endured an armed robbery.
‘She’s not settled well since being back, I don’t know whether that’s because she’s been away with us and we’ve all been together constantly or whether it’s just because she’s a little scared in the house since what happened,’ she wrote on her Instagram Stories.
The star continued: ‘She’s stuck so close to both our sides when we have been home and it’s really not like her. She’s normally running wild playing with all her toys.
‘I’m a little worried about her and fully preparing myself for another night by her side settling her when she wakes.
‘That girl is honestly my life, I’ll just do anything to make her feel settled and safe.’
Charlotte also shared the impact everything has had on her personally, writing: ‘It was my first day off in a while. I’ve been absolutely knackered.
‘My eyes sting from having a little cry. And it’s gotten even colder!’
She concluded by saying she’s ‘praying for some peace and calm’ ahead of giving birth to baby number two this month.
