Former Geordie Shore star Scotty T has been caught driving while three times the cocaine limit.

The Celebrity Big Brother winner, real name Scott Timlin, has been banned from the roads for drug driving after he was pulled over in his Land Rover Discovery in Kenton on October 18 last year.

The 36-year-old provided a blood sample, which was positive for cocaine and Benzoylecgonine, a breakdown product of the class A drug.

Timlin, of Newcastle City Centre, appeared at the city’s magistrates’ court on Monday, February 3, where he pleaded guilty to two counts of driving with a controlled drug above the specified limit.

Prosecutors said the reality TV star had 32 microgrammes of cocaine per litre of blood in his system when the legal limit is 10 microgrammes and 800 microgrammes of BZE per litre of blood when the legal limit is 50 microgrammes.

There is a ‘zero tolerance’ system, so even a small amount of cocaine can put you over the limit.

He was fined a total of £330 and was banned from the roads for 12 months. He must also pay £85 costs.

Timlin starred in Geordie Shore in 2012 for its fourth series and won Celebrity Big Brother in 2016. He was earning big money doing nightclub appearances, performing with the Dreamboys, and starring in pantomimes alongside his main job.

The former Newcastle University student has also appeared in several other shows including long-running Australian soap Neighbours, Ex on the Beach and Just Tattoo of Us.

In 2018, Timlin was axed from Geordie Shore – allegedly due to being pictured taking drugs. He admitted to using cocaine every day and said it partly to block out his grief after the death of his stepfather and four close friends.

Speaking about his battle with drugs, he shared: ‘I was overthinking things and my anxiety was through the roof. I couldn’t even leave the house, it was horrible.

‘To cope I’d have cocaine. It helps me focus and concentrate. I was using it every day when I was off the rails and doing PAs up and down the UK – sometimes I was doing three in one day. I didn’t know how else to cope,’ he added to The Sun.

‘I’ve been to the brink and managed to pull myself back again but it’s been horrendous.’

The following year, Timlin was declared bankrupt with debt of £147,000. ‘Scott Timlin did not fully cooperate with the bankruptcy proceedings and so his discharge has been suspended indefinitely until he does,’ an Insolvency Service spokesperson said at the time. He was banned from running a business by the UK government.

Last month, Timlin made a huge TV comeback on the series that originally made him famous. Timlin surprised the cast who were filming Kylie Christie’s stag do in Bangkok.

In 2024, he tested the waters of a small screen return by competing on Channel 4’s Celeb Cooking School, where a Michelin-starred chef taught him how to cook. He was eliminated from the competition first, with Blu Hydrangea securing the win.
