Celebrity Big Brother contestant and TV host Trisha Goddard has been granted a private room in the star-studded house, as she continues to battle stage four cancer
Celebrity Big Brother star Trisha Goddard has bagged herself a swanky private bedroom away from the other housemates.
The 67-year-old telly icon sashayed into the famous digs during last night’s live launch, joining a glittering lineup of celebs. Her intro vid spilled the beans that Trisha is bravely battling stage four terminal cancer and is all about living life to the max.
To make sure she’s comfy, the show’s honchos have sorted her out with a solo room, just like they did for Sharon Osbourne, 72, last year. A source dished to The Sun: “Trisha has been given her own space in the house to ensure she can rest when necessary.”
The crew’s been in cahoots with her medics to make sure she’s got all she needs while she’s part of the show. “It’s a sensitive situation, and this setup allows her to manage her health while still being part of the show.”
While Trisha gets her privacy, the other twelve celebs will be bunking together in the main bedroom, fighting over a few double beds.
Before stepping into the house, Trisha had a talk with the Mirror about how her oncologist is working hand in glove with the Big Brother team.
“My palliative care team – and when I say that word everybody screams and runs away, but it’s symptom treatment – is working with the team here too. And then when it comes to my treatment, I had one infusion on Monday, so I’ve got to jump on a plane and go straight back to have the next one as soon as the show is over.
“I’ve got a bag full of meds that I normally have which will be with me in the house. So my oncologist has planned my treatment around the production schedule.”
Trisha, the telly icon known for her daytime chat shows, including her own hit morning programme from 1998 to 2010, has been battling breast cancer since 2008. She beat it once, but last year she dropped the bombshell that it’s back – and this time it’s stage 4.
When she broke the news, she was clear: it’s “not going away”. As she stepped into the CBB house, her fans were quick to pour out their hearts online.
One user tweeted: “It’s so brave of her to go in given her prognosis and to share that with the nation. ” Another wrote: “Wow what a brave woman Trisha is. Hats off to her.”
And yet another shared: “All love to Trisha Goddard. Literally losing her life and taking all opportunities coming to her to live her life and have all the experiences she can.”
Back in December 2024, Trisha courageously spilled the beans on her cancer battle and how it’s been flipping her world upside down. After a year of chemo, she didn’t shy away from keeping her fans clued in with all the nitty-gritty updates.
As the year wrapped up, post-chemo Trisha hit social media with snaps of her out for a stroll, bigging up “movement as medicine”. She didn’t sugarcoat a thing about the rough ride her treatment gave her, spilling the tea on why she ditched some anti-sick meds that were messing with her constipation.
Trisha wrote: “My first walk after my chemo/hormone treatment is always tough…. I’ve chosen to have minimal anti-nausea medication because it makes my already bad medically-induced constipation even worse….Even though it’s being treated. But I’ve found that what all the research shows is true: a brisk walk in the fresh air helps, but bloody hell – not gonna lie: it’s damned hard.
“Don’t wanna leave a trail of puke on the boardwalk, innit? Experience has taught me that the more meds you take – the more side-effects, so whenever safe and possible, with my Dr’s help, I do whatever I can for myself to handle my symptoms.”
