Celebrities and their Superstitious Lucky Numbers

It’s natural to assume that any person living the charmed life of a celebrity is blessed with more luck than others. After all, celebrities only make up a tiny, privileged fraction of the population, and count among the richest people on Earth.

While there is no denying that some celebrities have worked hard for their vaunted status, even the most talented ones are quick to admit that luck plays a huge role in whether you will “make it” in the fame game.

It should, therefore, come as no surprise that there are plenty of A-listers out there who hold superstitions of their own and live by these in order to keep their lucky streak going. Here are some of the superstitious lucky numbers that celebrities believe in.

Celebrities and Their Superstitious Lucky Numbers

Taylor Swift – 13

Many people consider the number 13 to be a bad omen, associated with poor luck and even danger. However, this is certainly not the case with pop superstar Taylor Swift. The singer has made no secret of the fact that she considers 13 to be her lucky number, and even writes the number on the back of her hand before every live performance she has ever done. It clearly seems to be working for her.

Jim Carrey – 23

The Bruce Almighty star Jim Carrey knows a thing or two about good luck. Despite being one of the wealthiest and most well-known comedians ever to have lived, Carrey’s career did not get off to the strongest start. He spent years trying to break into the Los Angeles comedy scene, finally getting his first big booking in his mid-thirties following a chance encounter at a Hollywood comedy club.

Some may recall that Carrey starred in Number 23, a thriller about a man who becomes obsessed with the titular number. The film seems to have had a major impact on Carrey, as shortly after he changed the name of his production company to JC23 and admitted to being convinced that the number does indeed have lucky properties.

Uri Geller – 1111

Few people have made as big a name for themselves in the magician trade as Uri Keller, the illusionist and self-proclaimed psychic who had made tens of millions of dollars from his mind-bending TV tricks. It seems only natural that a psychic would have an affinity for superstition, which is best demonstrated by Geller’s firm belief that the number “1111” has magical, luck-bestowing properties. If you’re ever watching a Geller show, keep an eye out for any appearances of this magic number.

Lucky Number 7

Of all lucky numbers in the world, seven is the one most widely believed to bring good luck. In fact, this belief is so established that it is one of the most popular lottery numbers worldwide, despite the fact that it does not actually rank among the luckiest lottery numbers that have produced the most winners. While we’re not aware of any celebrities who stick to number seven, a large number of prominent figures were born on the 7th of the month, including Ringo Starr, Charles Dickens, Queen Elizabeth I, and William Wordsworth.

Whether or not any number could ever bestow good luck seems fanciful, but that doesn’t stop some of the world’s biggest celebrities from believing it. Perhaps they’re onto something…
