Burnley boss Parker given ban following red card

Burnley boss Scott Parker has been given a one-game touchline ban and a £2,000 fine for misconduct.

His ban comes after he accepted an Football Association charge in the aftermath of his sending off in the Clarets’ 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion earlier in March.

Parker was sent off after full-time along with Burnley’s CJ Egan-Riley as the latter clashed with Baggies player Will Lankshear.

Egan-Riley’s red card was rescinded following Burnley’s successful appeal, however Parker received his ban after he was found to have acted in an improper manner by entering the field of play to remonstrate with the match officials.

Parker will now miss their Championship fixture against Bristol City on Saturday with the Clarets third in the table, two points Leeds United and Sheffield United in the automatic promotion spots.
