Brian May’s wife Anita Dobson issues health update after Queen legend hospitalised

Sir Brian May’s wife Anita Dobson has claimed that she is feeling “confident” that he will make a “full recovery” from the stroke he suffered earlier this month. The Queen icon who recently turned 77, was rushed to hospital when he presented symptoms of the medical condition.

Strokes are very serious and can quickly become life-threatening if not treated immediately. Brian first noticed symptoms of his mini-stroke when he lost the feeling in his arm and was unable to control it.

Since being released from hospital his wife Anita, 75, has confessed she has forced the Bohemian Rhapsody singer to rest so his body can recover. But admitted that the rocker is finding it difficult to slow down.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, Anita shared: “He’s been told to rest. It’s hard to keep him resting, but he needs to, otherwise he won’t get well. He’s doing great – he’s on the road [to recovery], he’s doing really, really well. We’re very pleased.

“I’m completely confident he’ll make a full recovery. You have to take things slowly, and chill a bit. He’s not that kind of animal,” she continued. Adding that he is back to his former cheery self and making light of the recent health scare.

It was reported that he found the saga “very exciting” after making the quick hospital dash and needing to undergo various tests by doctors.

Anita felt it was good that he was able to find humour in the situation, as it restored her faith that he was on the road to recovery.

She also has reassured fans that he is still able to play his beloved instrument and has already been on the guitar.

Shortly after it was announced that Brian had been admitted and received emergency treatment the We Will Rock You hitmaker took to social media.

In an Instagram video, he updated fans and was heard saying: “I hope you’re all well out there. I’m here to bring you first of all some good news. I think the good news is that I can play guitar after the events of the last few days.

“And I say this because it was in some doubt because that little health hiccup that I mentioned happened about a week ago and what they called it was a minor stroke and all of a sudden – out of the blue. I didn’t have any control over this arm so was a little scary.”

Praising the staff who cared for him at Frimley Hospital in Camberley, Surrey, he added: “I have to say I had the most fantastic care and attention from Frimley Hospital where I went blue lights flashing… the lot. Very exciting!”

It has been reported Brian has since been living on a vegan diet while holed up at his three-storeyed mansion in Windlesham, Surrey, set in an estate of more than 200 acres.

The sprawling property is estimated to be worth over £25 million and is set in the heart of the countryside which is said to bring him and his wife joy and peace.
