Esports tournament organiser BLAST has created a new content series through its BLAST Premier YouTube channel, together with its betting partner GG.BET.

Called the GG Chronicles, the series features short stories on personal lives and backgrounds of well-known Counter-Strike 2 players from FaZe Clan, Team Vitality and Natus Vincere (NAVI).

The content series’ first season is now live on the BLAST Premier YouTube Channel, and features a total of four episodes. The series is aimed to be a short overview of the personal lives and childhoods of professional players, with each episode being less than 10 minutes long and focusing on a single player.

BLAST and GG.BET announced that at least 10 more episodes will be published by the end of 2024. The series is a part of a larger partnership between the esports betting company and BLAST, first agreed on in early 2024.

The first episode tells the story of Aleksi ‘Aleksib’ Virolainen, current in-game leader for NAVI and former ENCE and G2 Esports player. Episode two follows Justinas ‘jL’ Lekavičius, a Latvian player also playing for Ukrainian organisation NAVI. The remaining two episodes focus on British player William ‘mezii’ Merriman, currently playing for Team Vitality, and Slovakian player David ‘frozen’ Čerňanský of FaZe Clan.

According to GG.BET and BLAST, the series is a “collection of personal stories which prove that behind every star champion is a normal person with the same fears and weaknesses.” BLAST and GG.BET did not announce dates for upcoming seasons and episodes of the show.

BLAST has recently announced that it aims to host a CS2 Major in Austin, Texas in 2025 and surprisingly partnered with the All England Lawn Tennis Club to organise a TopSpin 2K25 tennis tournament during Wimbledon.
