Black Mirror season 7 episode details
In a new clip promoting the series, Netflix revealed the titles of all episodes in the season.
Episode 1: “Common People”
Synopsis: When a medical emergency leaves schoolteacher Amanda fighting for her life, desperate husband Mike signs her up for Rivermind, a high-tech system that will keep her alive — but at a cost.
Episode 2: “Bête Noire”
Synopsis: Maria is a high-flying development executive at a chocolate company. Everything is going well for her until someone she hasn’t seen since school — a woman named Verity — shows up for a focus group tasting session. It could be the chance for a heartfelt reunion, except there’s something very odd about Verity, and Maria seems to be the only person who notices.
Episode 3: “Hotel Reverie”
Synopsis: Hollywood A-list actor Brandy Friday is thrown into an unusually immersive high-tech remake of a vintage romantic movie. She’s got to stick to the script if she ever wants to make it home.
Episode 4: “Plaything”
Synopsis: An eccentric loner named Cameron, who harbors an obsession with a mysterious 1990s video game, is arrested in connection with a grisly cold case — and his interrogation soon goes to places the police weren’t expecting.
Episode 5: “Eulogy”
Synopsis: An innovative system that enables users to literally step into photographic memories of the past leads a lonely man to re-examine a heartbreaking period in his life.
Episode 6: “USS Callister: Into Infinity”
Synopsis: Robert Daly is dead, but the crew of the USS Callister — led by Captain Nanette Cole — find that their problems are just beginning.
During Netflix’s Geeked Week 2024, Charlie Brooker, the series’ creator, teased:
You can expect a mix of genres and styles. We’ve got six episodes this time, and two of them are basically feature-length. Some of them are deeply unpleasant, some are quite funny, and some are emotional.
It’s back to basics in many ways. They’re all sci-fi stories — there’s definitely some horrifying things that occur, but maybe not in an overt horror-movie way. There’s definitely some disturbing content in it.
It’s well-known for sometime that there will be a sequel to the famous Star Trek parody. The USS Callister episode appeared in the fourth season, and its cast included Jesse Plemons and Cristin Milioti, with Kirsten Dunst making a small cameo.
Robert Daly, played by Jesse Plemons, was a co-creator of a massively multiplayer online game. He created a simulation populated by clones of his co-employees but, as expected, the project quickly spun out of control.
It appears that, in the new season, Black Mirror’s creators are going to share what happened to Daly’s team next. In a comment to Netflix’s Tudum, Brooker stated jokingly:
We’ve done a sequel for the first time in Black Mirror history. Normally, I kill off all the characters at the end of an episode, [but] I kept some of ’em alive. I’m growing as a human.
