Best Cruises Around the World

If you have ever been on a cruise ship, you will have a good understanding of just how luxurious and opulent these skyscrapers of the ocean can be. Given not all cruise liners are made equally, choosing the right one will need a little research.

Just like every other industry under the sun, the world of cruise ships is constantly evolving. The sheer magnificence of these oceanic beasts rival even the best hotels, not to mention the extraordinary added frills that truly make a holiday on the high seas an unforgettable experience.

Depending on the traveller and the amount of spare time, and cash, you have at your disposal; the options available to you are seemingly endless. There are loads of options to consider before embarking on your once in a lifetime adventure.

Firstly, you will need to decide whether you are going to cruise around the world or if you’d just like a quick 2 week getaway to recharge those batteries. Either way, you’ll become the captain of your own destiny as you traverse the wide open expenses of crystal waters and blue skies.

Amenities on Board

One way cruise liners attract travellers is thanks to the plethora of activities you’ll have at your disposal. The industry has grown beyond what was thought possible and has come a long way since the Titanic. No matter what it is you fancy, it is almost guaranteed to be on board your vessel.

Any vessel you choose will almost certainly have a fully-fledged casino on board that rivals even that of the world’s top live casinos. Themed water parks that are incomprehensible when you take into consideration that you are on the open ocean. The finest dining and exceptional service is all part and parcel of your trip. There honestly is no better way to spend your vacation, whether hopping to a new island for a couple days or exploring our planet for a year at a time, everyone needs to try it at least once in his or her lifetime.

The deck of the ship is where you’ll be spending the vast majority of your time on board. Here you will find an endless array of activities to engage in. Some of the best ships will have outlandish activities such as paragliding for those adrenaline junkies out there. If you are after a more relaxing experience, you will have a world class spa and even a movie theatre to just kick back and relax in.

There is one major difference when it comes to circumnavigating the globe on a cruise liner; these ships are often quite a bit smaller than your average ship. This means less fellow passengers and more attention from the staff on board.

Without further adieu, and in no particular order, here are the best world cruises that should satisfy even the most discerning of passengers.

Cunard – The Queen Mary 2

Cunard holds the title of conducting the most voyages around the world and continues to be one of the go-to liners for both newcomers and seasoned travellers. In 2016, the ship underwent a $90 million revamp, which has gone down well with passengers who experienced the older version.

The total time on board will be 113 days and will stop at 38 destinations around the globe. The journey begins in New York where the QM2 will start sailing from East to West, a route that is considered to be traditionally used for centuries already.

Crystal Cruises

Considered to be a liner that offers unrivalled luxury, Crystal Cruises have been operating for over 2 decades already. The sheer brilliance of the ship is noticeable from the moment you lay eyes on her.

The trip duration is 105 days, but to be honest, it does not really qualify as a full circumnavigation of the entire globe. Essentially, you’ll be traversing around 3 quarters of the planet instead, not much of a difference for most.

One aspect that makes this cruise accessible to all, is the fact that there are options to get on and off at a port of your choice. Those who are accustomed to opulence and five star luxuries will definitely be more suited to the Crystal Serenity cruise.

MSC Cruises

Even though MSC cruise liners are probably one of the most recognisable names in the industry, it wasn’t until 2019 that they began offering world cruises.

They currently offer 2 different options for travellers. One trip, which will take place on the MSC Magnifica, lasts a total 117 nights.

The MSC Poesia will take passengers on a journey for a duration of 119 nights. Both trips will see you stopping at approximately 45 destinations with all the bells and whistles.

Viking World Cruise

This 128-day long voyage will take passengers to 28 different countries, departing from Fort Lauderdale and docking in London. The journey will take you through the world’s most popular destinations and even crossing the Panama Canal.

There is an even longer voyage that will see you traversing the world’s oceans for a period of 245 nights. Considering this is such a long crossing, the passengers on board are of the older crowd, but that does not mean you’re not going to be in for once in a lifetime opportunity.
