TV presenter Ant McPartlin, his wife Anne-Marie, and their infant son Wilder recently took a sunny holiday in the Algarve region of Portugal.
Notably, the summertime escape coincides with what would have been his 18th wedding anniversary with ex-wife Lisa Armstrong.
The family’s holiday comes just two months after Ant and Anne-Marie welcomed Wilder into the world, likely making it the newborn’s first vacation.
Strolling along the sun-drenched paths of the Algarve, the Saturday Night Takeaway presenter wore a printed yellow shirt paired with shorts.
Anne-Marie complemented him in an oversized shirt adorned with stripes, as her husband pushed the baby’s pram.
Their trip to Portugal follows Ant’s recent visit to Mallorca alongside his long-time friend and co-presenter, Declan Donnelly, where they filmed an advertisement for the travel company TUI.
It likely isn’t lost on Ant that his holiday comes 18 years after his wedding to Lisa Armstrong in 2006, which ended in a highly publicised divorce in 2018.
Now, the exes are in a custody battle over their beloved dog, Hurley.
Hurley, a Labrador adopted by Ant and Lisa in 2013, has become a focal point in their post-divorce relationship.
The former couple initially agreed on joint custody, but recent reports indicate that Lisa, 47, is seeking sole custody of the dog.
Amidst their £31 million divorce settlement, Ant reportedly resisted giving up full custody of Hurley.
The custody battle has seen the former couple adhering to a rotating schedule for Hurley’s care, facilitated by Ant’s chauffeur to avoid direct contact.
Ant’s personal struggles have also been a matter of public record. His battle with alcohol came to the forefront in March 2018, shortly after his split with Lisa, following a car accident and a subsequent drink-driving charge that resulted in an £86,000 fine.
Lisa, on the other hand, made a subtle return to social media after Wilder’s birth.
She shared a cryptic quote from Winston Churchill on her Instagram Stories, hinting at the importance of actions over words: ‘I no longer listen to what people say, I watch what they do. Behaviour never lies.’
But amid all of this, it’s clear the new family is thriving in the sunshine.
