Alien: Romulus will land on digital platforms right in time for Halloween

It’s been a whopping seven years since the last instalment of the Xenomorph franchise was released. Alien: Covenant certainly wasn’t the best part of the series, and it’s no wonder Hollywood has lost some faith in the universe. However, it hasn’t been abandoned for good. Alien: Romulus, directed by Fede Álvarez, is a fresh start for the franchise.

Cailee Spaeny, who you may remember from Priscilla and Civil War, plays the leading role in the film. Her character, Rain Carradine, along with the rest of the spaceship’s crew, have to fight to the death against a mysterious predator.

When will Alien: Romulus be released on VOD?

In the US, the latest instalment of the Alien film series will debut on Prime Video and other VOD services on Tuesday, 15 October 2024.

For now it’s unknown when the film will debut digitally in the UK.

When could Alien: Romulus be released on streaming services?

As a 20th Century Studio film, the new Alien movie will drop on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ in the UK.

Considering that the new Alien is a success, it could hit Hulu and Disney a month after its digital release, just like Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes did. Based on that, we estimate that Alien: Romulus on Hulu and Disney will likely arrive around mid-November 2024.

Accounts on Hulu start from $7.99 per month for an ad-supported version. The basic subscription for Disney+ with ads costs £7.99 a month.
