TV host Alex Jones has taken a swipe at Hollywood star Jared Leto, suggesting the Oscar winner’s lack of courtesy shows he was “not been brought up well”. The Welsh presenter remembers Jared as being “so full of himself” when she interviewed him on The One Show three years ago.

In a recent interview, Alex reflects on the most memorable moments from her career and confesses that chatting with British talent on the BBC couch is often more thrilling than questioning big-name movie stars.

“We’ve had people on who are big Hollywood stars. I mean, last week we had Robert De Niro and he was lovely, but he was lovely afterwards,” Alex shared while revealing some behind-the-scenes secrets from her job.

The 47 year old mother of three then mentioned Jared Leto and took a dig at the Suicide Squad actor. Speaking to the Netmums Podcast, Alex said: “He was there in sort of dressed as one of the Three Musketeers and he had all this, like, I don’t know, Gucci, big shirt, sleeves billowing. I mean, he was so full of himself.

“And I thought, no, no, no, no. Our audience are nice people and they deserve better than this. And, okay, you might be a huge celebrity star and have done all these films, but it doesn’t cost anything to be polite and nice. Anyone who can’t bring those simple skills to the table, I’m out. I’m like, no, sorry, you’ve not been brought up well, then.”

Alex has previously taken a public swipe at the American film star. During an appearance on Josh Widdicombe and Rob Beckett’s Parenting Hell podcast in March 2023, she was asked to name her “worst guest”.

Without hesitation, she responded: “Jared Leto,”.

When quizzed if he was a bit of a handful, Alex sighed: “He was dressed in Gucci and whatever and just so dismissive. He put himself on like a different plane to everybody else. I just can’t bear people like that.”

Upon seeing a snapshot of Jared on Zoom, Josh gasped: “Oh my word, look what he’s wearing!” [He’s] dressed like a musketeer or something.”

Alex added: “I don’t know whether I referenced musketeer early on and then from there it was a sharp downhill. With some people, you cannot warm them up for love or money, he was one of them.

The 2022 interview took an awkward turn when Alex noted that Jared was sporting a white blouse similar to hers. She welcomed the Morbius star with gusto, exclaiming: “Oh my goodness, look, you got the memo, the frilly shirt, I like it, yes.”

The atmosphere became uncomfortable when Alex confessed she thought the sci-fi flick might be too “scary” for her young son to watch. Changing subject, she brought up his part in the Apple TV+ show ‘WeCrashed’, which tells the story of WeWork’s founder, saying: “Now on paper, it doesn’t sound the most exciting, but this guy you play is really extreme, isn’t he? How would you sum him up?”

Jared shot back: “Hold on, hold on, first Morbius is too scary, and now WeCrashed is too boring?”

Alex then dared him to “prove” them wrong, prompting Jared to declare: “I will prove you wrong. You watch them, and I guarantee one thing, you will definitely not be bored.”
