The next Marvel film has big shoes to fill. On the one hand, Captain America: Brave New World is the first MCU entry since the smash hit, Deadpool and Wolverine. On the other, it’s the first standalone movie for Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), who became the new Captain America.
As you may remember, Avengers: Endgame concluded Phase Four of the MCU. In the end (spoilers!), Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, decided to end his superhero career. Convinced that the world needed such a figure, he handed his shield and alias to Sam Wilson, previously known as Falcon.
In Brave New World, Sam tries to live up to expectations as the new Cap – as he doesn’t have Steve Rogers’ superpowers, he has to rely on his wit, vibranium wingsuit and shield. After the US presidential election, a terrorist attack occurs in the USA. The newly elected president, Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford), chooses Sam to investigate the case.

How to watch Captain America: Brave New World now
The Anthony Mackie-led movie will premiere in the US and the UK on Friday, 14 February 2025.
In the UK, you can book tickets via Vue, Showcase, Odeon or Cineworld websites.
In the US, tickets are available on AMC Theatres or Fandango.

When will Captain America: Brave New World be released on VOD?
Marvel hasn’t revealed when the new Cap movie will appear on digital. However, the previous films in MCU’s Phase Five hit VOD between 60 and 67 days after they opened in cinemas.
The box office results didn’t seem to affect this time. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels were flops, and they debuted on VOD after 60 and 67 days, respectively. Conversely, the highly successful Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 dropped on digital 63 days after the cinematic release, while the smashing Deadpool and Wolverine needed 67 days.
If Brave New World follows that trend, it may drop on digital in the US between Tuesday, 15 April 2025 and Tuesday, 22 April 2025.
When will Captain America: Brave New World be released on DVD/Blu-ray?
Physical copies of Marvel superhero films appear quickly. Deadpool and Wolverine was released just 21 days after its VOD debut. It took 25 days for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and 28 days for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to appear on DVD and Blu-ray.
Therefore, we expect that copies of Captain America: Brave New World will appear between Tuesday, 6 May 2025 and Tuesday, 20 May 2025.
Note that these dates are just estimations – we’ll update this article with new information as soon as we have it.
When will Captain America: Brave New World be released on streaming services?
As this is a Marvel film, it will debut on Disney+ exclusively rather than rivals such as Netflix.
Quantumania and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hit Disney+ just a day after physical copies arrived in the stores. Deadpool and Wolverine, as well as The Marvels, became available for streaming three weeks after the DVD and Blu-ray release.
Therefore, Captain America: Brave New World may drop on Disney+ in the early-to-mid May, at the earliest. However, its streaming debut may slip to the beginning of June 2025.
