When did Beyoncé last tour the UK?

Beyoncé last toured the UK in 2023, when she played eight dates across the country as part of her Renaissance world tour.

She took in England, Wales and Scotland during May and June of 2023 performing at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, the Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, the Stadium of Light in Sunderland and then the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

Her appearances in the UK left more than a cultural legacy, with her concerts creating a so-called “Beyoncé Effect” on the UK economy.

The tour reportedly led to an unexpected increase in the Consumer Prices Index, which in turn saw an increase in inflation by the Bank of England.

It was said to have contributed to a 6.8 per cent rise in recreation and culture spending, the fastest in 30 years, which the Office for National Statistics said was the biggest driver for the rise in inflation.

What did Beyoncé say after her Grammys win?

Beyoncé won the coveted album of the year prize after four previous nominations in this category.

She is the most nominated artist in Grammy history, with 99 in total and now 35 wins to her name.

But until Sunday, Best Album appeared to be beyond her grasp, with her husband rapper Jay-Z commenting on this anomaly at last year’s ceremony.

He said: “I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won album of the year.

“So, even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work.”

After finally winning the album category this year, she said: “It’s been many, many years and I just want to thank the Grammys, every songwriter, every collaborator, every producer, all the hard work.”

She dedicated the award to Linda Martell, who was the first black woman to play the Grand Ole Opry, a country music venue in Nashville, Tennessee.

The mother of three also won a Grammy for Best Country Album, the first black artist to do so.

Presented the award by Taylor Swift, Beyoncé said: “Genre is a cold word to keep us in our place as artists.

“I’m still in shock.

“Thank you so much for this honor.”

She also took home the award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “II Most Wanted” by Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus.
