Davina McCall’s boyfriend of six years Michael Douglas has revealed that the pair have discussed marriage.
The former Big Brother presenter, 57, underwent a craniotomy in November 2024 after a random health check discovered a 14mm wide brain tumour.
Davina, 57 documented her journey with fans and at the end of last year had the benign mass removed.
Supporting her throughout the ordeal was her partner Michael, 49, who was Davina’s hairstylist friend of 20 years prior to their romantic relationship.
The pair has been together since 2019 – two years after her split from husband Matthew Robertson – and now Michael, 49 has revealed that they have discussed marriage.
‘We’re big fans of stepping out into the unknown so I think there’ll be a bit of that going on this year. We’ll be trying some new things and seeing what happens,’ he told Closer.
When asked if a proposal could be on the cards he replied with a coy answer.
‘I don’t know,’ he said. ‘We often talk about it, but I don’t think so. What I love about us is we’re not tied to each other and that’s what keeps us there in a way.
‘There’s something nice about being independent people so we’re working out what it would mean for us to be married and if it’s something we should do and if we need to do it or not.
‘I actually don’t know the answer and neither does she, but it’s a funny thing that is hovering around us all the time.’
Davina has been married twice before. From 1997 to 1999 she was married to Andrew Leggett, and in 2000 she married Matthew, with whom she has three children named Holly, Chester, and Tilly.
The couple split after 17 years together, and in previous interviews, Davina has spoken about not rushing to tie the knot again.
Speaking to The Sun, she replied ‘no’ when asked if she was engaged or planned to marry Michael.
She explained: ‘That’s not even on the table, it’s just not. He’s been [married before] so we both just feel like we are happy, let’s not rock the boat. Let’s just keep things on the down low.
‘We’re not interested. I knew Michael for so many years [before we got together] that there were no questions to ask like that. I know him. It was easy.’
‘I love Michael. And I always feel like it’s too precious to just talk about in public. I just want to keep it for me,’ she concluded.
