Costa Del Sol’s tourist offering will soon include glitzy, fashion forward fashion stores and a host of new restaurants in a £515million project. Coupled with the exciting new arrivals, two new hotels will take pride of place in intu shopping centre’s latest development in a prime location in the Spanish holiday hotspot. The complex is located north of Palacio de Congresos and will span across across 250,000 square metres of land. The intu brand is well-loved by Britons, with a host of retail developments across the UK, including the iconic intu Trafford Centre, in Manchester.
The company’s website built up excitement for the lavish new site, and stated it was a “resort like no other”.
It said: “intu Costa del Sol is set to redefine the model of the retail industry.
“An extraordinary place where the most demanding guests meet the most exciting experiences.
“Bringing together the best in leisure, retail, dining, hotels, events, conferences, sports and well-being whilst all set among beautiful public spaces.”
For those who don’t fancy holiday shopping, an action-packed waterpark is being created, featuring a huge wave pool.
Meanwhile, an aquarium, climbing walls, a concert space as well as circus venue are also being included.
The resort has been given a tropical feel to mirror its holiday surroundings.
Planning images show large palm trees, parks and gardens as lush tranquil escapes after a day spent shopping.
Water features are dotted throughout specific relaxation zones.
To match the environmental vibe, the resort will be created with at least 20 per cent recycled materials.
For Britons who fancy travelling further afield for a swanky new holiday hotspot, China’s first horizontal skyscraper is in store.
The quirky piece of architecture, known as The Crystal, will be the highest sky bridge in the world when it opens later this year, as part of a new district in Chongqing City.
It is designed into a connecting skybridge amid the eight other skyscraper towers and will be the highest of its kind in the world.
The jaw-dropping structure will span across the top of four skyscraper buildings, rising to 60ft tall and 820 feet in the air.
Meanwhile, the wider complex will house hotels, restaurants and shops in the unorthodox design.
